F. Tim Knight was appointed Associate Librarian at the Osgoode Hall Law School Library on May 29th, 2006. Prior to that he was the Cataloguing Team Leader at the Law Society of Upper Canada. As Head of Technical Services his primary responsibilities include:
Tim also acts as liaison with Osgoode Hall Law School, Information Technology Services and Library Computing Services at York University Libraries (YUL) communicating the technical needs of the Osgoode Law Library, interpreting the technical environment of the YUL library system and contributing to solution building between these two groups. He has endeavoured to contribute to the development of the York library system as a whole focusing on a variety of issues related to Technical Services, database management and the YUL integrated library system. Tim has been actively involved with the Canadian Association of Law Libraries and the American Association of Law Libraries for many years and is the current editor of the KF Classification Modified for Use in Canadian Law Libraries (aka KF Modified) the classification scheme used at the Osgoode Law Library and in other law libraries across Canada. He teaches, Cataloguing Electronic and Internet Resources, a distance education course available through Mohawk College Library Technician Program in Hamilton. Tim is developing a new course for Mohawk entitled An Introduction to Metadata and Meatadata Applications.
