Creating Permanent Links to Journal Articles

A. How to Build Permanent Links to Journal Articles from York Libraries' Collections?

For example,
Obiora Chinedu Okafor, “Newness, Imperialism, and international legal reform in our time: a Twail perspective” (2005) 43 Osgoode Hall L. J. 171.
The link for this article should be like:
http://sfx.scholarsportal.info/york?genre=article&issn=0030-6185&date=2005&volume=43&issue=2&spage=171
To build links for other articles, use the above link as a model and change the following information:
                          ISSN number
                          Publication date
                          Volume number
                          Issue number
                          Page number
as highlighted in the following example:
http://sfx.scholarsportal.info/york?genre=article&issn=0030-185&date=2005&volume=43&issue=2&spage=171

B. How to Build Permanent Links to Hein Online Articles:
Search the article in Heinonline. When you are at the first page of the article, click on the permanent link icon as shown in the following screenshot.

Copy the URL link in the new window. It would usually look like this::
http://heinonline.org/HOL/Page?collection=journals&handle=hein.journals/ohlj43&id=11
However, this link works only on campus. To make it work both on and off campus, add the following prefix to the above link:
                          http://ezproxy.library.yorku.ca/login?url=
Thus the link should be:
http://ezproxy.library.yorku.ca/login?url=http://heinonline.org/HOL/Page?collection=journals&handle=hein.journals/ohlj43&id=11

C. How to Build Permanent Links to WestlaweCarswell Documents?
WestlaweCarswell has a web page to help you build links to their documents. Clike here to access the page.
The accurate westlaw citation (not the McGill citation) is required to generate the link. If you do not know how to construct the citation, you can search the document in the database and the citation is usually provided at the top of the full text document. It looks like this:
