1. Canada

 

Bank of Canada

-The Bank of Canada is the country’s central bank, responsible for monetary policy, currency, financial systems, funds managements, and corporate administration.  Provides recent general publications, fact sheets, annual reports, periodicals, research papers, conference papers, and book titles.

Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions
-The OFSI supervises, advises, regulates, and monitors the Canadian financial system.  Include links to relevant government departments, industry and professional associations, provincial and territorial financial regulators, and international organizations.  Also provides publications and guidelines on foreign and domestic banks, insurance companies, pension plans, and international regulatory developments. 

 

 2. United States

Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago
-The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is one of twelve regional banks in the US that serve as the national central bank.  Includes economic data, working papers, research articles, conferences and seminars, and periodicals.

Federal Reserve
- The Federal Reserve is the central bank of the United States, and provides the nation with a flexible and stable monetary and financial system.  Includes news and events, monetary policies, banking information and regulation, economic research and data, consumer information, and Federal Reserve publications.

Federal Reserve Bank of New York
- The Federal Reserve Bank of New York is one of 12 regional Reserve Banks which, together with the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., make up the Federal Reserve System.  Includes news and events, monetary policies, banking information and regulation, economic research and data, consumer information, and publications.

- Web links to resources about banking law, such as blogs and podcasts, databases and statistics, directories, government agencies, primary materials, journals, Supreme Court Cases, websites, and Westlaw databases.

 

3. Foreign/International

Bank for International Settlements
- The BIS is an international organization which fosters international monetary and financial cooperation and serves as a bank for central banks.  Includes the Central Bank research hub database, annual reports, quarterly reviews, research papers, working papers, committee publications, statistics, and links to relevant agencies and committees.

Central Banks on the World Wide Web
- Part of the Bank for International Settlements’ Central Banks Hub.  An extensive list of web links to central banks from around the world.

European Central Bank
- The ECB is the central bank for Europe’s single currency, the euro.  Includes information about the ECB and the euro, monetary policies, statistics, a Monthly Bulletin, annual reports, and other ECB publications.

European Investment Bank
- The EIB is the long-term lending bank of the European Union.  Includes information about current and past projects and the EIB InfoCentre, which provides access to all EIB news, press, events and publications.

Law and Development (The World Bank)
- This web page covers topics such as insolvency and creditor rights, law and justice institutions, privatization and the law, and regulation of financial markets, systems, and infrastructure. It includes the Global Insolvency Law Database, the Doing Business electronic law library, country insolvency data, the Law Resource Center, and the Public Private Partnerships in Infrastructure Resource Center.

International Monetary Fund (IMF)
- The IMF is an organization of 186 countries working to foster global monetary cooperation, secure financial stability, and facilitate global trade. It provides IMF reports and publications arranged by country, research projects and working papers, data and statistics, and a searchable database of full-text IMF publications.

Law Moose Internet Law Library
- Formerly the U.S. House of Representatives Internet Law Library.  It includes links to U.S., foreign, and international legislation, cases, periodicals, and bibliographies.  Last updated in 2003.

The World Bank
- The World Bank is a source of financial and technical assistance to developing countries around the world.  Website covers economic policy and debt issues, financial and private sector development, macroeconomics and growth, and law and development.  Includes statistics and data programs, research products and projects, publications, full-text basic documents, blogs, news, and events. 

World Trade Organization
- The WTO deals with the rules of trade between nations at the global or near-global level.  Includes distance learning modules, information by country, trade statistics, summaries of recent research projects, and a documents gateway.
