Circulation
BORROWING PRIVILEGES
Introduction
Registration at the Circulation Desk of the Law Library provides borrowing privileges at all York University libraries.
Library Card
If you don’t have a library card, you can apply for one at the Circulation Desk.
Library Card and PIN
Your library card together with your PIN enable you to access varying services both in the library and remotely.
You need your user ID 29007--------- (which is the number on the label that is affixed to the front of your library card or the back of your Sessional Identification Card) and your PIN to access some automated library services. You may change your PIN, verify the due date of materials that are on loan to you, renew items and check to see if an item which was checked out is returned and is being held for you. Your user ID and your PIN are also required to access some databases such as the Periodical Indexes. If you have supplied the library with a current e-mail address, your PIN can also be retrieved online from the libraries home page at http://www.library.yorku.ca.
Suspension of Privileges
Borrowers who were registered at another York University library may borrow circulating materials from the Law Library unless their privileges have been suspended. Borrowing and service privileges may be suspended for failure to follow library regulations, failure to pay fines and/or return books or failure to co-operate with library staff.
YORK UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY BORROWERS:
Borrowing privileges will be suspended for those who owe $25.00 or more in unpaid bills and/or accumulating charges for overdue materials.
Graduating students may have their diploma and/or transcripts withheld until all outstanding library accounts are settled.
EXTERNAL BORROWERS:
Borrowing privileges will be suspended for those who owe $5.00 or more in unpaid bills and/or accumulating charges for overdue materials.
All outstanding library fines and/or fees must be paid before a borrower may re-register at the library. Outstanding accounts may be referred to a Collection Agency.
